PURPOSE: A sea-island type conjugate fiber in which three kinds or more of island components of different fineness are included is provided which is excellent in a tough feeling and lightening effect and expresses a natural streaky effect during the manufacture of a woven/knit fabric. CONSTITUTION: In a sea-island type conjugate fiber in which polyester island components are continuously disposed in the direction of a fiber axis in an alkali-soluble polymer(before removal of a sea component), the sea-island type conjugate fiber after removal of the sea component has a diameter of 10 to 21μm, three groups or more of single yarns of island components having different fineness are included each other and the diameter of single yarns of island components is in the range of 0.3 to 6.0μm.
