PURPOSE: A computer keyboard having an LCD is provided to display individual key operations of a key matrix on the LCD in a standard operation mode, and to display advertisements mixed with characters and pictures on the LCD in an advertising display mode. CONSTITUTION: A communication equipment connects a computer(3) with a keyboard(A), to transceive data. A mode selection button(120) selects functions of the keyboard(A) in one of a standard operation mode or an advertising display mode. An LCD(40) displays visual information in the standard operation mode or the advertising display mode. A microprocessor(50) monitors and controls each unit, and transmits key scan codes to the computer(3), then processes commands for the keyboard(A) from the computer(3). A ROM(130) stores programs performed by the microprocessor(50). A RAM(110) is necessary for self-processing, storing transceived data, and performing an operation of the microprocessor(50).
