<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct colors according to input image information with output characteristics depending on recording conditions of an image forming device taken into consideration. <P>SOLUTION: A histogram generation section 251 generates a histogram of the image data output from a drawn data interpretation means 202, and a characteristic quantity calculation section 252 analyzes the characteristics of the histogram and calculates a predetermined characteristic quantity. A color correction rule generation section 254 generates color correction rules for applying appropriate color tone correction to the input image, depending on the calculated characteristic quantity and the recording conditions of a color image forming device set by a printer driver or the like. A color tone correction section 255 applies the appropriate color tone correction to each of pixels of the input image while referring to the generated color correction rules. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
