<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bus type LAN signal transmission system which transmits/receives optical signals propagating in a single-core bidirectional mode on an MM optical fiber, without attenuating them by a media converter having an optical transceiver for SM optical fibers. <P>SOLUTION: An MM optical fiber 3 is connected to an optical transceiver 11 for SM optical fibers. The inputs optical signals transmitted/received over the MM optical fiber 3 to both a core 114a and a clad 114b of ferrule 114 and propagates them, thus constructing a simple and low-cost system. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
