<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locking mechanism of a telescopic image forming apparatus in which a locking operation for sustaining the attitude of the telescopic image forming apparatus can be effected without requiring any special locking operation, and to provide a telescopic image forming apparatus equipped with the locking mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: A lock arm 92 for stopping a side casing 22 to a center casing 21 is provided and engagement/disengagement of the lock arm 92 with/from the center casing 21 is switched by means of an operating pin 95 provided on a sheet guide 81. When the sheet guide 81 is closed, the lock arm 92 engages with the center casing 21 to lock the telescopic state of the casing. When the sheet guide 81 is opened, the lock arm 92 disengages from the center casing 21 to allow telescoping of the casing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
