<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent reductions in detection precision in a mode using an optical conduction member between a light emitting part and a light receiving part. <P>SOLUTION: This optical detection apparatus is provided with the light emitting part 1 for irradiating light; the light receiving part 2 for sensing light; and the optical conduction member 3 for guiding the light from the light emitting part 1 to a surface to be measured M and guiding light to be detected from the surface to be measured M to the light receiving part 2. The light conduction member 3 is provided with a sheet-like light transmitting medium 4 which transmits light by internal reflection to a section opposite to the surface to be measured M and in which an optical opening part 4c is formed oppositely to the surface to be measured M. Or the light conduction member 3 is provided with a light transmission path separating means 7 for irradiating the surface to be measured M with only light of one wavelength A among two types A and B of light from the light emitting part 1 and guiding the light to be detected from the surface to be measured M to the light receiving part 2 with light of the other wavelength B.
