PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image management method and device capable of acquiring a processing result required by a user with one scanning processing. SOLUTION: If image data for re-printing and electronic data are saved when a manuscript is read at a manuscript reading unit 3 from a reading operation UI (user interface) 2, original (copy quality) image data read at the manuscript reading unit 3 are saved at a file for re-printing in an image data saving unit 6, and the original image data are converted into electronic data and saved at a file for electronic data in the image data saving unit 6.
