PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin door closer having a self-closing function and a braking function, requiring no installation space, and capable of positively suppressing a closing speed of a door. SOLUTION: A self-closing means 11 having the self-closing function, and a braking means 12 having the braking function are serially provided in an opening and closing direction of the door in a door closer body 10. A rotating gear 28 of the self-closing means and a braking gear 45 of the braking means are formed by eccentric gears and they are meshed. By this composition, in rotation of the braking gear and rotation of the rotating gear, an angular velocity ratio changes, speed changes, and a degree of braking force by the braking means is fluctuated. By this, acceleration changes, and the closing speed of the door is suppressed even more. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
