PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a player/recorder that can be made small as a whole for playing/recording a plurality of different types of disks. SOLUTION: This player/recorder is provided with a first disk tray 11 for loading a first disk and a second disk tray 12 for loading a second disk different from the first disk in type. The disks can be inserted and extracted into/from one disk insertion/extraction slot 10A with the second disk tray 12 overlapped over the first disk tray 11 in the player/recorder. Even when a plurality of types of disks are played/recorded, the player/recorder can be made small as a whole by saving a space. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
