PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochromic mirror which changes colors in accordance with voltages applied. SOLUTION: The electrochromic mirror comprises a first substrate, second substrate, first and second electrodes, electrochromic agent, and reflecting layer. The reflecting layer is made of an aluminum-titanium (Al/Ti) alloy and is disposed on the second substrate so as to reflect part of the light incident to the first substrate to return to the first substrate side. The invention also provides a reflecting layer for an electrochromic mirror so as to reflect part of the incident light from an image. The reflecting layer contains an aluminum-titanium (Al/Ti) alloy layer and an indium tin oxide (ITO) bonded to the alloy layer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
