PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Doppler type ultrasonic flowmeter for measuring a flow rate more precisely by measuring at a real time an acoustic velocity in a fluid to be measured, without relying on its experience values and experimental values, and measuring the flow rate using that measuring result. SOLUTION: An acoustic velocity calculation unit for calculating the acoustic velocity in the fluid at a real time, is arranged in the proximity of the ultrasonic transmission means of the Doppler type ultrasonic flow meter. The fluid velocity distribution measuring means of the Doppler type ultrasonic flowmeter measures fluid velocity distribution by using acoustic velocity values in the fluid calculated by the acoustic velocity calculation unit. It does not matter if an ultrasonic oscillation portion which an ultrasonic transducer in the ultrasonic transmission means has together, and an ultrasonic receiving unit formed separately from the oscillation portion are provided. It does not matter if an incident angle calculation means for calculating an incident angle of an ultrasonic wave is provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
