PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a whitening cosmetic enhancing the effectiveness of a conventional whitening composition and having satisfactory whitening/skin beautifying effects. SOLUTION: This whitening cosmetic essentially contains coenzyme Q10 which is a human-derived antioxidant. In addition to coenzyme Q10, the cosmetic contains ascorbic acid or its derivative (which is a conventional whitening component), hydroquinone glycoside, a glycyrrhizic acid salt, glycyrrhetic acid, kojic acid or its derivative, tranexamic acid or its derivative, ellagic acid or its derivative, a plant extract, a placenta extract, or the like.
