PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain stabilization of menthyl lactate without addition of inorganic salt. SOLUTION: This invention is a compacted form of menthyl lactate including menthyl lactate in an amount of at least 80% (m/m) in the compacted products. The molded (compacted) products of menthyl lactate formed by compression are stored stably for a long time (at least 6 months) causing no change from a sensory point of view and the acid value of the compressed menthyl lactate causes no alteration during the storage. The compacted products can have a variety of shapes, most commonly, for example, cubes, rectangular solids, cushions, columns, tablets, pellets or briquettes are cited. Pellets are most preferred. There never happen coagulation, caking and concrescence. Thus, good pouring fitness, fluidity and metrical supply properties are maintained even after a long storage time. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
