PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the fabrication of a counterfeit of an integrated circuit difficult, and to facilitate the discovery of the counterfeit by applying a counterfeit prevention to the integrated circuit of a game machine. SOLUTION: As shown in Figure (a), characters and marks cannot be seen normally (in a visible ray region) on the surface of a package 81 of the integrated circuit 80, but when irradiated with an ultraviolet ray, a model number 82 of the integrated circuit 80 emerges as shown in Figure (b). Thus, simply irradiating the ultraviolet ray makes it possible to judge whether the integrated circuit is genuine or not. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
