The invention relates to a device for determining the wetting of a wall by a liquid. According to the invention, ultrasonic waves pass through guides (5, 6) and are transmitted to a target (2) which is submerged in a liquid, in order to deduce therefrom the wetting of said target according to certain characteristics of the signal received. The invention is particularly suitable for the study of heavy liquid metals.
