The use of 4-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1-piperidinyloxy as an agent blocking the propagation of polymerisation forming a solid polymer in the production of (meth)acrylate of formula (I), by transesterification of alkyl methacrylate of formula (II), with heterocylic alcohol of formula (III).
