PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resistance change functional body whose electrical resistance changes by the Coulomb blockade effect. SOLUTION: An insulator 101 held between a first electrode 111 and a second electrode 112 contains a plurality of conductive fine particles 102, which are formed to change the electrical resistance between the first and second electrodes 111 and 112 by the Coulomb blockade effect. The conductive fine particles 102 are formed, by implanting a material for forming the conductive fine particles into the insulator 101 by negative ion implantation method. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
