PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability during cleaning, reduce the size and cost of a device and prevent the breakage of articles to be metered. SOLUTION: A channel 8 consists of a supply trough 3 for supplying the articles to be metered, a stock hopper 4 arranged under the supply trough 3 for stocking and discharging a preset number of articles supplied from the supply trough 3, and a metering hopper 5 arranged under the stock hopper 4 for metering and discharging the articles supplied from the stock hopper 4. The plurality of channels 8 are arranged in straight lines and hoppers 4, 5 are arranged outward with the articles in the lined supply troughs 3 having rear ends 3a back to back in the supply direction. Thus, the width and size of the device is reduced, compared with those in the structure of the channels being in one straight line. The reduced width decreases the height of a collection chute 7 and prevents the breakage of the articles. The hoppers 4, 5 located outward improve workability. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
