PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative ion generator using a water static electricity system. SOLUTION: This negative ion generator 1 is provided with a negative ion generation zone 3 below a device housing 2 and a negative ion separation zone 5 above it. The negative ion generation zone 3 is provided with an air inlet 4, a water feeding pipe 8 inserted into the device housing 2 and provided with a nozzle 11, a target 9 against which water injected from the nozzle 11 collides, and a water drain passage 10 formed in a bottom part to generate negative ion due to collision and make negative ion float in air. The negative ion separation zone 5 is provided with an air outlet 7 and a negative ion separation flow passage 6 formed by providing a baffle plate 12 to sort negative ions by gravity in air and let air containing negative ion flow out of the air outlet 7.
