PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manhole cover capable of being easily attached /detached to/from a manhole and preventing snow melting water or rainwater from accumulating on an upper cover and securely prevent a heat insulative closed body from scratching by being rubbed against a road face. SOLUTION: A lower cover 3 is put at the lower face side of a cast iron upper cover 2 fitted to a manhole 1 and supported. A pair of heat insulative closed bodies 4, 5 constituting the lower cover 3 are formed of semi-circular flat plates made of expanded urethane. A space A is formed between the upper cover 2 and the lower cover and in the circular frame body 6 supporting the insulative closed bodies 4, 5 on the upper cover 2, a vertical width W<SB>2</SB>is set larger than the thickness W<SB>1</SB>of the insulative closed body 4, 5, and the lower end side protrudes downward to form a protective frame 6A<SB>1</SB>. The heat insulative closed bodies 4, 5 are supported openably/closably in a inverted truncated chevron shape by a pair of elastic support pieces 8, 8 provided to the circular frame body 6.
