PURPOSE: A real time overspeed prevention system using a GPS signal, and a method for recording a vehicle speed in real time using wireless terminal at the vehicle are provided to calculate the vehicle speed by using GPS satellites. CONSTITUTION: According to the vehicle overspeed prevention system using a GPS signal, a vehicle terminal(40) comprises a GPS receiver , a speed display and a wireless transceiver. The vehicle terminal receives at least more than three signals from a GPS satellite(30) and corrects a vehicle speed and codes it. Then the vehicle terminal transmits the coded signals to a base station antenna(50). Then, a MSC exchanger(70) decodes the signals transmitted from a base station(60), and a control station computer(80) provides desired information to each business computer(90).
