<p>A method and solution to activate and metallize the surface of a fluorocarbon material, suitable for circuit boards is disclosed. The surface of fluorocarbon materials is both hydrophobic and oleophobic, and highly inert and repellent to oils, dyes, adhesive and coatings. The method of the present invention makes such fluorocarbon materials wettable with metallizing solutions and chemicals, and also bondable with adhesives and coatings. The method comprises contacting said fluorocarbon surface with a mixture comprising a cyclic amide, a quaternary ammonium compound, a cationic or nonionic surfactant, a glycolether and an organic acid.</p> |
