<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent or reduce the deviation of each of color images caused by the shift of an optical path in a picture display method and a picture display device using an optical path shift element. <P>SOLUTION: The picture display device is provided with a 1st color composition means 18 compositing two or more color image light beams to obtain a 1st composite image light beam, a 2nd color composition means 17 compositing the 1st composite image light beam composited by the means 18 with a remaining color image light beam to obtain a 2nd composite image light beam to be formed into an image by an image forming means 7, a 1st optical path shift element 101 shifting the optical path of the 1st composite image light beam to a specified direction orthogonal to the advancing direction thereof, and a 2nd optical path shift element 102 shifting the optical path of the remaining color image light beam to the specified direction orthogonal to the advancing direction thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
