PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an image forming apparatus by reducing an amount of fixing solution given to toner and miniaturizing a fixing solution tank. SOLUTION: Fixing solution 92 is given to toner on a photoreceptor drum 20, and toner is transferred on an intermediate transfer belt 10. Since a liquid developing system is adopted for a copying machine, the amount of toner which adheres on the photoreceptor drum can be reduced compared to a dry developing system. Thus, the necessary minimum amount of fixing solution which realizes sufficient dissolution or swelling can be reduced. Consequently, the fixing solution tank 93 can be miniaturized. Since material similar to carrier liquid of liquid developing solution is used as diluent of fixing solution 92 and therefor reaction time of a dissolved/swelled component in fixing solution and a resin component of toner can be shortened. Then, a charging characteristic of toner and that of the photoreceptor drum are not adversely affected by fixing solution. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
