摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a polymer optical waveguide device having a smooth core end face sloped relative to a vertical plane, and capable of sufficiently lowering the reflection attenuation of the core end face without performing a time consuming process such as a grinding process. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the polymer optical waveguide device, a polymer optical waveguide laminate provided on a substrate is cut with a blade attached to the main shaft of a spindle arranged to the substrate in a sloped manner and the inclined core end face is provided. Also, the method comprises (1) a first cutting step of cutting only the polymer optical waveguide laminate at least until cutting a core with the blade and (2) a second cutting step of cutting part of the substrate with the blade along the cutting line of the first cutting step.
