LENS SYSTEM AND CAMERA SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens system capable of driving control over a focusing lens matching automatic focusing precision required for the pixel pitch of a camera. SOLUTION: A lens system 2 which can be mounted on and demounted from a plurality of cameras 1 equipped with imaging devices differing in pitch interval from one another is provided with a focusing driving means 11 for driving a focusing lens 8 and a control means for controlling the focusing driving means on receiving a focusing driving command for focusing a photographic optical system from a camera on which the lens system is mounted. The control means receives information regarding the pixel pitch of the imaging device 4 that the camera is equipped with from the camera and controls the focusing driving means in predetermined driving units when the pixel pitch is larger than a given value, and controls the focusing driving means in the predetermined driving units and then in driving units smaller than the predetermined driving units when the pixel pitch is smaller than the given value.
