PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of taking a picture in exact shutter timing while comparing a photographic distance, which is set in advance, with a subject distance. SOLUTION: The camera is equipped with a comparison device for comparing the photographic distance set in advance with the subject distance obtained by range-finding, a means for displaying the result of comparison by the comparison device on a display device and a storage part for storing the photographic distance set in a snap mode. If the snap mode is set when the start of photographing is inputted by a release switch, the photographic distance in the snap mode is stored in the storage part, and the subject distance is measured by an autofocus device, and the result of the measurement is transmitted to the comparison device, which compares the result of the range-finding with the photographic distance stored in advance on a condition set in advance, and then the result of the comparison is displayed on the display device.
