PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an animation display device in which two patterns of moving images can be recorded even with one sheet of pattern, and which displays an arbitrary pattern of moving image selected from the two patterns of moving images. SOLUTION: The animation display device includes a lens panel 3 where hemispheric lenses 3a are disposed side by side on the surface, a transparent pattern sheet 5 which is slidingly moved on the back side of the lens panel 3, and a lamp 6 which illuminates the pattern sheet 5 from the back side. The device is provided with a moving mechanism A for moving the lens panel 3 by a predetermined amount orthogonally to a sliding direction of the pattern sheet 5. The pattern sheet 5 has pattern data composed of dots disposed at a half pitch L2 of an interval L1 between the lenses 3a. And a shield 7 provided all over the back surface of the lens panel 3 is formed with through-holes 8 for transmitting the light of the lamp 6 at respective positions corresponding to the lenses 3a.
