The invention relates to an electrical connector (20) which is used to connect an integrated circuit card to contacts. Said connector is of the type consisting of an insulating support (22) which is defined by (i) an upper face (26) comprising a series of contact arms (40) projecting out above same, each of said arms belonging to a contact blade (24), and (ii) a lower face (28) comprising a series of connection arms (46) projecting out beneath or level with same, each of said arms belonging to a contact blade (24). The inventive connector is also of the type in which each contact blade (24) comprises an intermediary arm (52) which is supported by the insulating support (22) and which connects the parallel contact (40) and connection (46) arms to one another. The invention is characterised in that each intermediary arm (52) extends horizontally through the thickness of the insulating support (22) along an axis that is essentially perpendicular to the axis of the contact (40) and connection (46) arms, such that each contact blade (24) is essentially U shaped.
