Hydraulic sinter press applies high pressure to a body of metal powder, ceramic powder or a mixture of them to form an object, e.g. a gearwheel. The press has a first plate (1) and a second plate (2) parallel to it. A hydraulic cylinder unit (11) moves the plates relatively to each other in a direction at right-angles to them. This pushes the plates towards each other from a press commencement position to a press position for processing the body (10) placed between them under high pressure and then away from each other to the press outlet position after completed processing of the body. - A hydraulic cylinder unit (5) moves both plates relatively to each other between the press outlet position, in which they are located close to each other, and a start position, in which they are at a considerable distance from each other. |
