<p>A radically curable coating agent useful as a styrene-free filler composition for automobile bodies containing binder with at least one alpha, beta-ethylenically unsaturated polyester component and optionally additives such as filler, defoamer, wetting agent, anti-deposition agent, pigment, catalyst and/or other additives, where the coating agent contains at least one cellulose ester and its components are selected from styrene-free materials is new. Independent claims are included for: (1) a filler composition containing a coating agent (CA) and 1-3 wt.% radical initiator on the total weight of CA; (2) a process for production of a coating layer by application of at least one curable layer of filler composition to a substrate, where the filler composition is prepared by mixing the coating material with the radical initiator; (3) a process for preparation of the radically curable CA by the steps:(a) preparation of a binder composition containing an alpha, beta unsaturated polyester component, obtained from at least one polyester resin by reaction of (i) a dicarboxylic acid component comprising 75-100 carboxyl equivalent % of alpha ,beta-ethylenically unsaturated 4-5C dicarboxylic acids and/or their anhydrides and 0-25 carboxyl equivalent % of dicarboxylic acids selected from:4-10C saturated dicarboxylic acids and 6-10C alpha, beta-ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acids or their anhydrides, (ii) an alcohol component comprising 15-60 hydroxyl equivalent % of at least one beta, gamma-ethylenically unsaturated alkenylether, 6-14C alcohol and up to 40-85 hydroxyl equivalent % of an alcohol component selected from a groups consisting of mono- and/or dihydric alcohols of molecular weight 32-400, where 6-14C beta, gamma-ethylenically unsaturated alcohols are excluded from this group, (b) preparation of at least one cellulose acetate ester, (c) mixing of components (a) and (b) and optionally addition of additives, and (d) addition of at least one filler.</p> |
