Method for the treatment of soils polluted by heavy metal compounds based on the use of micro-organisms and related plant of treatment providing the steps of: isolating and selecting the soil; mixing the soil to be treated to the resulting mixture of micro-organisms and sterilized edible materials; keeping the mixture of soil, edible materials and micro-organisms damp by contribution of water and/or of a sugary solution and aerated by injecting and/or sucking air, the pH ranging from 2 to 10 and adequate and suitable conditions being provided for the draining of the solutions of the heavy metal compounds polluting the treated soil.
