Polymers for cosmetic formulations

The polymers claimed for use as hair fixatives contain a group of formula (I). G = O or NH; and R = H or same or different organic groups optionally bonded to each other. The novel polymers comprise 0.05-90 wt.% of an optionally substituted (meth)acrylic acid-(2-(2-oxo-(or imino-)imidazolidin-1-yl)-ethyl ester) monomer of formula (II) and 99.95-10 wt.% vinyl caprolactam and/or vinyl pyrrolidone. R<1> = H or Me; and R = H or same or different organic groups optionally bonded to each other.
