The apparatus has a display device to display an operation state of the apparatus and to be transferable in front of openings. A transferring controller (41) controls the device so that the device is transferred to a position at which it masks an opening other than a particular opening through which an information recording medium in operation is allowed to pass. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a method of controlling a transfer of a display device equipped in an information processing apparatus (b) an information processing program readable by a computer incorporated in an information processing apparatus to allow a recording medium to pass through each opening when being loaded or unloaded into or from the apparatus.
