摘要 PURPOSE: A roll angle controller for a vehicle is provided to reduce the load of a chassis by lightening the load of a stabilizer bar, to improve the vibration insulation efficiency by reducing the inherent frequency of a vehicle and falling the transferring gain and to control a roll angle by occasionally changing the roll stiffness. CONSTITUTION: Stabilizer bars(10,11) is included in both strut assemblies and formed in a twistable material. The stabilizer bars are formed serially by dividing more than two. A roll angle controller is installed between the stabilizer bars to control a roll angle of a vehicle by varying the twisting amount of the stabilizer bars according to the road condition during driving. The roll angle controller comprises a planetary gear train(18), an actuator(15), a detecting unit, an angle sensor(17) and a microcomputer(14). The planetary gear train is installed between the stabilizer bars to control the twisting amount of the stabilizer bars. The planetary gear train comprises sun gears, planetary gears and a ring gear. The actuator is installed in one side of the planetary gear train and geared with the sun gear and the shaft of a chassis to transfer the rotating force to the planetary gear train. The detecting unit comprises sensors to detect the steering angle and the driving speed of the vehicle. The angle sensor is installed in the certain part of the planetary gear train to detect the rotating angle of the planetary gear train. The microcomputer controls the actuator by receiving the steering angle and the driving speed from the detecting unit or receiving the rotating angle from the angle sensor. Thereby, the load of the vehicle and the production cost are reduced.
