METHOD FOR PREPARING ETHYLENE OXIDE-CAPPED POLYOL WITH NO NEED OF REMOVING SALTS FORMED BY NEUTRALIZATION OF CATALYST

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for preparing ethylene oxide-capped polyol, which has no need of removing salts formed by neutralization of a basic catalyst or catalyst residue and gives a polyol product useful in producing foamed polyurethane, elastomers, sealing materials and coating materials. CONSTITUTION: The method for preparing ethylene oxide-capped polyol comprises the steps of: (a) providing a polyol prepared in the presence of a double metal cyanide(DMC) catalyst; (b) adding a basic catalyst to the polyol prepared under the effect of the DMC catalyst to form a mixture containing the basic catalyst in the amount of less than 0.05 wt% based on the total weight of the mixture; (c) carryin out ethoxylation of the mixture at a temperature of about 130-220 deg.C to obtain ethylene oxide-capped polyol.
