The effluent from livestock rearing is separated into liquid and solid fractions, and the latter is treated e.g. by electroflocculation, electrolysis or methanization, to make it suitable for use as a fuel. The processed solids can be mixed with other organic or mineral materials, such as timber waste or sludge from purification plants.
