Production of gas burner for living flame fireplace, by forming large and small burner openings in burner surface and providing ceramic block arrangement to simulate wooden logs

The fireplace (1) is made using a method comprising the following steps: creating an arrangement of ceramic blocks (4) used to simulate wooden logs on a burner surface (16); determining a first set of burner positions adjacent to the vertical planes for the ceramic blocks; determining a second set of burner positions evenly distributed over the remaining surface area; forming large burner openings (17) in the burner surface in the first positions; forming small burner openings (21) in the burner surface in the second positions; depositing particles (8) of fireproof material, e.g. vermiculite, onto the burner surface; and mounting the ceramic block arrangement on the burner surface.
