The container in which the material is transported is filled with the material in a stepwise manner and sealed airtight following each filling step, following which the putrification gases produced as the material rots are removed and burnt outside the container. The container is transported by vehicle. An Independent claim is also included for a transport and storage apparatus used to carry out this method, comprising a vehicle and a container provided with at least one outlet pipe connected to a combustion device with an outlet.
