A bearing assembly for supporting a drive shaft includes a cylindrical housi ng (15), and a plurality of elastomeric bearing sections (20) disposed within the housing. The bearing sections (20) are bonded to th e housing (15) by fist applying a pattern of alternating parallel lines of adhesive to the inner diameter of the housing, installing the beari ng sections (20), and inflating an airbag within the housing to thereby apply a uniform radial pressure to the inside of the housing while t he adhesive cures.
