PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus are provided to achieve improved user convenience by removing the ambient noise in accordance with the result of the analysis on the ambient noise. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a first step of detecting the ambient noise; a second step of generating a signal having the frequency same as the frequency of the noise detected in the first step and a phase opposite from the phase of the noise detected in the first step; and a third step of reproducing the signal generated in the second step around the speaker for outputting the voice of the opposite party. An apparatus comprises a first microphone for inputting the voice of a user; a first speaker for outputting the voice of the opposite party; a second microphone for detecting the ambient noise; a signal generating unit for generating a signal having the frequency same as the frequency of the noise detected by the second microphone and a phase opposite from the phase of the noise detected by the second microphone; and a second speaker arranged in the vicinity of the first speaker, and which outputs the signal generated from the signal generating unit.
