PURPOSE: An electric power steering control device is provided to restrict fluctuation of torque from kickback by detecting steering condition accurately, and to stop supply of auxiliary steering force by shutting off motor current timely with proper steering force. CONSTITUTION: An electric power steering control device is composed of a motor(7) applying auxiliary steering force to a steering system, a torque sensor(2) detecting steering torque of the steering system, motor driving units(13,14,121,124) driving the motor according to the detected steering torque, a motor driving command unit commanding start or stop of the motor, and motor driving decision units(122,123) stopping supply of the auxiliary steering force by stopping the motor in detecting the steering torque to be less than the reference value for the predetermined time when commanding stop of the motor from the motor driving command unit.
