METHOD FOR PRODUCING SODA LIME

PURPOSE: A method for producing soda lime packed in a canister used as carbon dioxide absorbent in closed rebreathing system is provided. The soda lime has high carbon dioxide absorbency since it has uniform granule size. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of dissolving NaOH, KOH and ethyl violet into a predetermined amount of water to prepare a mixture solution; charging a predetermined amount of Ca(OH)2 into a kneader; feeding the mixture solution into the kneader to knead Ca(OH)2 with the mixture solution for about 20 min, thereby obtaining a dough; after pressure extrusion, drying it at the temperature starting from 115 deg.C to 130 deg.C; and crushing it into about 3 to 5 mm in size.
