PURPOSE: An ODD(Optical Disc Driver) equipped with an optical pickup protector is provided to effectively protect an optical pickup by properly distributing a shock applied to the optical pickup when the shock is contacted according to a driving direction of the optical pickup. CONSTITUTION: A supporting frame(31) supports each part by installing to the inside of a housing. A spindle(33) rotates/supports an optical disc by installing to one side of the supporting frame. The optical pickup(35) reads information from the optical disc by linearly reciprocating along a radial direction of the optical disc at one side of the spindle. The first stoppers(41a,41b) are firstly contacted with the optical pickup along the driving direction of the optical pickup. The second stoppers(43a,43b) are contacted with the optical pickup after a predetermined delay from contact at the first stoppers.
