PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single fixed type rope chair lift for transportation and traction which is of simple structure, occupies space little in the longitudinal direction and is capable of using a maximum number of standard mechanical components according to the types of terminals to be set regardless of whether a bull wheel or a tension pulley is used. SOLUTION: A bull wheel 12 for transportation and traction, to which a chair lift is fixed, is driven by a motor mechanism 20, which is provided with gears and the coaxial shaft line of which is substantially extended in a direction perpendicular to the bull wheel 12. The motor mechanism 20 with the gears includes an electric motor 34 and a mechanical speed change gear 36, which constitute two independent modules arranged on both sides of the bull wheel 12. The bull wheel 12 is secured to a movable carriage 30 so that it can mechanically apply tension to a rope 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
