PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle camera device with a case reduced in size and improved in aesthetic quality, and a device for monitoring around a vehicle using the same. SOLUTION: The on-vehicle camera device 31 comprises a downward camera 41, a sideways camera 43, a circuit part 45, and the case 47. The downward camera 41 is arranged on the upper side of the sideways camera 43. With an imaging optical axis of its imaging lens system obliquely arranged to be directed obliquely downward from the facing direction of the on-vehicle camera device 31, it images a first image region obliquely downward from the facing direction. The sideways camera 43 images second and third image regions by using a prism 55 of approximately isosceles triangle cross section for reflecting a light from the second and third image regions approximately sideways from the facing direction to a direction approximately parallel to the facing direction and injecting it into an image sensor 59 via an imaging lens system 57.
