PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light extinguishing tool readily and surely extinguishing a light of a cigarette during light extinguishing and compactly housed when carried. SOLUTION: The light extinguishing tool 10 for inserting the tip of the lighted cigarette and extinguishing the light is provided with a housing part housing water 60 which is a light extinguisher, an opened cylindrical part 40a for inserting the tip of the cigarette and a partition wall formed so that the partition wall can be passed through by contact with light. The partition wall is composed so as to divide the interior of the housing part and the cylindrical part 40a.
