PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a system that set the write protection region of a memory block in a non-volatile semiconductor memory device.

SOLUTION: The non-volatile semiconductor memory device includes a non-volatile memory array having a plurality of memory blocks. A write control circuit responds to a write enable signal and controls the write operation of the non-volatile memory array. A write-protect control circuit stores a starting block address and an ending block address in the write region of the non-volatile memory array and selectively activates the write enable signal, in accordance with whether an external address has escaped from the write address region between the starting and ending block addresses.
