OPTICAL HEAD AND IMAGING DEVICE EMPLOYING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical head arranged such that image quality can be prevented from lowering when imaging is performed using a rod lens array, and to provide an imaging device employing it.

SOLUTION: A rod lens array 65 includes rod lenses 65a-65e arranged in zigzag. Light emitting elements 81-87 are arranged on a line 0.3 to -0.3 symmetric to the center line (central axis) of the rod lens array 65. Emission quantity distribution is made uniform in the subscanning direction of an image carrier after transmitting the rod lens array by decreasing emission quantity of the light emitting elements in the vicinity of the central axis of the rod lens array on the light emitting element line of such an arrangement and increasing emission quantity of the light emitting elements on the peripheral part.
