PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the appearance and touch of a protective fence installed in a park or an aesthetic area and to facilitate maintenance. SOLUTION: The post and beam of the protective fence are each made of a member bearing the strength of a steel pipe and covered on its outside with a pipe of artificial wood obtained by hardening wood powders with plastics. Because the pipe of artificial wood covers the strength-bearing member with a clearance therebetween, it can be easily replaced if soiled or damaged. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
